Microsoft Windows Live Mail - POP3

Net Energy Internet hosted email

To configure Microsoft Windows Live Mail to collect email via POP3:

Your username and password can be found in the 'Account information' email sent to you when your service was started.

  1. Click the blue 'Windows Live Mail' menu button at the top left and select 'Options > Email accounts'.
  2. Click the 'Add' button and select 'email Account' then click 'Next'.
  3. Enter your email address into the 'email address' box.
  4. Enter your password into the 'Password' box.
  5. Enter your name into the 'Display Name' box.
  6. Select 'Make this my default email account' and 'Manually configure server settings for email account' and then click the 'Next' button.
  7. Under 'Server type' select 'POP'.
  8. Enter 'mail.netenergy.net' into the 'Incoming Server address' box.
  9. Select 'Requires a secure connection (SSL)'.
  10. Under 'Authenticate using' select 'Authenticated POP (APOP)' from the drop down list.
  11. Enter your username into the 'Logon user name' box, replacing what is already there.
  12. Enter 'mail.netenergy.net' into the 'Outgoing server address' box.
  13. Select 'Requires a secure connection (SSL)' and 'Requires authentication'.
  14. Under 'Outgoing Port' replace '25' with '465' then click the 'Next' button, then click the 'Finish' button to save your settings.
  15. Highlight the account you just created and click on the 'Properties' button.
  16. Select the 'Advanced' tab.
  17. Select 'Remove from server after' and enter '1' day, then click 'OK'.
  18. Click 'Close'.
