Microsoft Outlook - POP3

Net Energy Internet hosted email

To configure Microsoft Outlook to collect email via POP3:

Your username and password can be found in the 'Account information' email sent to you when your service was started.

  1. Select 'Tools' followed by 'Account Settings'.
  2. Click the 'New' button under the 'email' tab.
  3. Select 'Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP or HTTP' and then click the 'Next' button.
  4. Enter your name into the 'Your Name' box.
  5. Enter your email address into the 'email Address' box.
  6. Select 'Manually configure server settings or additional server types' and then click the 'Next' button.
  7. Select 'Internet email' and then click the 'Next' button.
  8. Select 'POP3' from the 'Account Type' drop down menu.
  9. Enter 'mail.netenergy.net' into both the 'Incoming mail server' and 'Outgoing mail server' boxes.
  10. Enter your username into the 'User Name' box, replacing what is already there.
  11. Enter your password into the 'Password' box.
  12. Click the 'More Settings' button.
  13. Under the 'Outgoing Server' tab select 'My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication' and select 'Use same settings as my incoming mail server'.
  14. Select the 'Advanced' tab.
  15. Select 'This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)'.
  16. Under 'Outgoing server (SMTP):' replace '25' with '465'.
  17. Select 'SSL' under 'Use the following type of encrypted connection:'.
  18. Select 'Leave a copy of messages on the server'.
  19. Select 'Remove from server after' and enter '1' day, then click 'OK'.
  20. Click the 'Test Account Settings' button, if successful click 'Close' if not check the settings.
  21. Click 'Next' then 'Finish'.
  22. Click 'Set as Default' then click the 'Close' button.
